1912 Balkan War Memorial (Battle of Kumanovo) – Kumanovo, Macedonia The Battle of Kumanovo (Macedonian and Serbian cyrillic: Кумановска битка) on 23 – 24 October 1912 was a major battle of the First Balkan War. It was an important Serbian victory over the Ottoman army in Vardar Macedonia, shortly after the outbreak of the war.
The monument was built in the location of the battle and rumored that some of the unclaimed bodies of the soldiers were buried in a crypt underneath. The monument was mostly destroyed in WWII by advancing troops who saw the monument
as a key observation point for enemy troops. The Monuments tower was fully blown off and all that remains today is the first 2 floors.

The old public bath in the Turkish quarter was the center of Skopje’s social world at one point in time. Daut-Pasha Amam was probably built in the middle of the 15th century, and by size and artistic value represents a high water mark of monumental profane architecture (as opposed to religious architecture, such as the mosque tower seen beyond it.)
