Madagascar, in the middle of the island

A Sakalava group in a market town in Madagascar’s ‘Wild West’.
Ruling them was always, as the Merina proverb says, like carrying mud: if you hold it lightly in your open palms, it spills over, and if you close your hands firmly, it slips through your fingers.
Even today their lordly pride still makes them the least approachable and most mysterious of all Madagascar’s eighteen tribes.

The gorgeous Rex cinema in the capital of Madagascar, Antananarivo. Not only do they show movies (judging by banner for “ANDREBABE 3″, they also had live performances as well. According to TV station France3, which aired a traveling program devoted to the closure of Madagascar many historic cinemas in 2005, the Rex has been closed for 7 years…
