Predjama castle (Predjamski grad) is one of the most fascinating cultural
monuments of Slovenia. It was built as a fortress of the definat knight
Erasmus and is an entrance to a maze of underground caves.

This castle was built in the 13th century and was renovated in the Renaissance
period. It defied a military siege for a whole year defended by the robber
baron Erazem Predjamski.
The stairs leading to the upper floors are carved into solid bedrock, and the
secret niche hid a treasure trove
