Green architecture comes in many forms though lately it seems like these forms are stranger than ever. Urban skyscraper farms? Floating eco-cities? Glowing solar towers? Turbine-driven skyscrapers? Magnetically levitated wind collectors? Where does it end?! With all of these emerging green technologies it seemed an appropriate time to take a look at seven of the most amazing real and conceptual designs currently at the forefront of ecological innovation. Futuristic residential house-The Zero Emission House to be ready by June end

To coincide with Hokkaido Toyako Summit, the G8 summit, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan is constructing a futuristic residential house the Zero Emission House.The Zero Emission House is a single-storied steel structure prefabricated house with a total floor area of approximately 200m2and an exterior that has been designed to imbue traditional Japanese beauty. The house will showcase state-of-the-art Japanese energy and environmental technology to the world, with features including a 14.5kW capacity photovoltaic generation system, energy efficient lighting, a household fuel cell, and energy saving household appliances.

Floating City

Called Lilypads, these are basically zero-emission floating homes that uses solar, wind, tidal and biomass power to generate energy for its inhabitants.

Strata Tower in Abu Dhabi

Dubai is coming out to be the next destination as far as architectural designs are concerned. An example of the same is the Strata tower, a forty story, luxury residential building designed by architects Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote. The work has started on the Al Raha Beach and is slated to be completed by early 2011.
The tower would be 160 meters high and will be tallest building in the Al Dana precinct, which is the centerpiece of Aldar Properties PJSC’s prestigious Al Raha Beach development. The project and its development shall be showcased at Cityscape Abu Dhabi from May 13–15, 2008. the Strata Tower is designed to signify an important and dignified future for the Abu Dhabi and the surrounding region.
