Maldives – The Sunny side of life

Coral is a marine polyp that lives in large colonies. Its hard outer shell, forms the structure of the coral reef. The live polyp within keeps adding to the reef as it keeps building its shell. Thus coral reefs are living structures that can be damaged by pollution, oil spills and adverse weather conditions. The beautiful coral reefs in Maldives, are definitely worth seeing, for their delicate beauty and infinite variety of marine life….!

Gnaviyani Atoll (4.81 sq.mi.) is unique in the sense that it is formed by a single island, that of Fuvahmulah. The island which has captivated generations of travelers with its raw beauty, is one of the most fertile in the Maldives, producing a variety of tropical fruit. Fuvahmulah’s main draw is the Kedeyre Mosque. Built by the beach, the mosque and its adjoining bath are examples of adroit workmanship. The immaculately-kept mosque is also surrounded by beautifully carved tombstones.
